A new era of Northumberland Knights beginning with a first friendly match of the year against a team of youngsters called Schwarz. Knights started the match with a diamond 4-4-2 formation having a Defensive and Attacking Central mid. At the back, Sweeper role and Stopper in central defence.

Match Review (Kickoff time - 3:15pm)

Despite missing several key players before the match, Knights started the match brightly by winning a penalty early in the match when Alaudin was fouled in the box. Haikal scored from the spot having the goalie dived the other direction. 10 to 15 mins later, Knights could have a 2nd through Haikal from a corner but it was disallowed through infringement. Knights defence were arguably solid marched by Ariff and Azmi in central defence until later in the 1st half when Schwarz equalised from a corner. A mistake by the defence saw them being penetrated for the 1st time in this game.

Schwarz then lead the match for the first time less than 10 mins later having won a penalty when Azmi made a challenge in the box. Knights then dictate the rest of the half seeking for an equaliser creating a couple of chances but none saw the back of the net.
The 2nd half followed a similar pattern from the 1st half. Knights made changes to the team desperate searching for the 2nd goal. Nasir was a spectator throughout the 2nd half having the team dominate the opponents but the final ball let them down.
Late in the match, Anuar, unable to control his temper saw red. Anuar was already cautioned earlier for shoving off the Schwarz defender and a mouth off with their goalie. Just before the game ends, Sahrin could have stole a late goal after a splendid pass by Ariff from his own half but the Schwarz goalie got a final touch to it. Referee blew the final whistle which end the match 2-1.
