Match Review (Kickoff time - 3:00pm)

Knights clicked into gear right from the start as the players are determine to get their first win. The usual faces for centre backs are not available for this match but seemed not to be missed as the stand ins did their job and kept a clean sheet. It was the first time since early 2008 that Haikal had started alongside Reza in central midfield and it didn't take long for both to have shots balloned. The 1st 15 to 20 mins was singled out by displays from the left back Mazelan and left winger Mikail as they were pumping crosses into the opponents penalty box. It almost got Sam his 2nd for Knights as his volley from Mazelan cross rattled the post. The striking duo Jesse and Sam kept Vipers defence busy and finally when Jesse scored Knights first goal, it was ruled offside. Jesse had another shot where only with an excellent palm clearance by Vipers Goalie prevent the ball from nestling into the net. Moments later, Vipers goalie had no chance of stopping Jesse's next shot but unfortunately it hit the woodwork.
Jesse kept his cool despite the earlier misses and finally guided a wonderful header into the back of the net courtesy of Mazelan lofted pass. It didnt take long for him to get his 2nd as Shawn's clearance met him just outside the penalty box before he put it into the back of the net. The scoreline in the 1st half could have been more if not for the chances squandered by Knights players.
The 2nd half started equally as the 1st being
dominant in attacking. Vipers tried to hold on to the ball but had little time and errors were inevitable. It didnt take long for an error to be pounced by Knights Energizer Bunny Ramy for his 1st goal when Vipers goalie literally handed him the ball. A couple of minutes later, after latching a loose pass, Haikal sent one that met Ramy who netted his 2nd. Jesse and Ramy were both determined to get a hat trick as they kept pouring forward and didnt seem to sit back and came close but chances weren't taken.
Culprits were many in that match for missing sitters in front of goal despite the scoreline.
Late in the match, Vipers came close to a goal but Banks who's arguably a spectator throughout the match parried a low drive. Knights kept searching for a 5th and finally answered by Mikail who received a superb cross from Syabas as the winger headed it into an open goal. Haikal could have put the icing on the cake when a free kick was won outside the penalty box but the shot didnt trouble Vipers goalie who got the last touch of the match.
It was a performance by Knights to be remembered and hopefully it will continue for a long time...

Final score : Knights 5 Vipers 0
Knights scorer: Jess (2), Ramy (2), Mikail
Knights Man Of The Match : Jesse

The man of the match was really difficult to decide. Honestly, most of the players could have been the one.

Pitch was not good.....small, bumpy, uneven and plenty of dragonflies. Yeah, I was more of a spectator thru out the game but the dragonflies made me busy.

Hehe... Yeah Banks was busy palming away dragonflies...

u guys played very well and fully deserved the huge win. Viper team B, however, has only been formed early Feb this yr. Compared to u guys, who have been formed since 2002 and have such understanding, we will always be second best. many of our guys were playing only their 1st game for us, and have not gel. tks for the hash lesson in football :)
