Match Review -- Kickoff 3pm

The Knights started off brightly, with new replacement keeper Rosli in goal, and Ash returning back to action after 2 years out. Lovely wing play and a strong centre ensured that the Knights assumed control of the game from the first whistle, after which, the ref lost his whistle and decided to enjoy the game as a 'on-the-pitch' spectator.

Knights fired the first salvo, a break down the left hand side saw Udin taking on and beating two defenders after a lovely pass from Ahmat. Udin then finished smartly, beating the keeper at his near post. 1-0 to the Knights. Another break down the left 5 minutes later resulted in an excellent pass from Udin, and Ahmat deftly flicked the ball over the keeper. 2-0, and Ahmat finally scored after going 9 months without one.

However, things started to unravel for the Knights. The opponents pulled one back, their striker being miles offside, with the ref/spectator admiring the finishing while the Knights were left fuming. 2-1. Just before half time, a long punt in the centre of the field, a pull on a Knights defender jersey, and the ball broke free for a speculative effort from the opponents. The ball looped over Rosli, 2-2.

Second half started as it ended, with the Knights at the end of dubious calls from the ref/spectator. The opponents were not spared either, resulting in the game turning into a drab affair. However, 15 minutes in, another speculative long punt saw the opponent's striker getting ahead of Rosli, and an easy tap in. 3-2. Soon, from a corner, a free header for the opponent, and the ball nestled in the Knights corner, after our defender standing at the left hand post went walkabout. 4-2

At this stage, the Knights decided to pull up their socks and started playing aggressive football. Off one such scrum, a free kick was awarded outside the box, and with one swing of his right boot, Haikal pulled a goal back as the keeper was left clutching thin air. 4-3. With about 9 mins to go, a through pass from Ahmat, sub striker Ariff was through on goal, and coolly finished for the equaliser. 4-4.

When the final whistle blew, Knight's Defender Azmi seeked out the ref and pointed out his mistakes and being to told to be more firm with his decisions on the field. Last we heard, the ref was busy shopping for a new whistle.
