Match Review -- Kickoff 9am

The Knights were severely handicapped for this match, as most of the first team players were either unavailable or injured. Our defender / midfielder Sean even had to step in as a first half keeper, as our No 1 Banks was out for this match. (Note to organizers: No more early morning matches :P)

No matter. The Knights, so used to facing adversities, started off pretty well, with good control of the midfield, and fluid movements between the strikers and the wingers. The passing was excellent, and for the first time this year, the Knights actually played a lovely passing game on the floor, no high balls to the front men. The opponents did not even manage to go into the last third of the Knight's area, and for the first 15 minutes, the Knight's stand-in keeper was just a spectator. True to form, about 18 mins into the game, Jesse controlled a through pass from Ahmat, and squared it to Remy for the opening goal.

Knight started to grow in confidence, and piled on more pressure on the opponents goal. Unfortunately, with everybody so eager to score, the middle of the park was left empty, and the Dynamos had a fast break-away, which resulted in a three against two situation, with the defence gone missing. They equalised, despite the best effort at a 'Wonder Girls like' impersonation done by our keeper to save. 1 -1. A few minutes later, another break, from the right side, caught out Danny, and the Dynamos scored again. 2 - 1. Just before half time, another break away from the Dynamos, this time leaving Ariff flat-footed as they ran in to score. 3-1.

Knights started the second half much better organised, with the defence sorted out, and had a few chances to tie the game. The best chance of the day fell to our guest player, Amy, who had the open goal to aim at, only to sky his header way over the bar. The Knights were on this day made to pay for wasting many chances, and the opponents' 3 lightning raids garnered them 3 goals. Another defeat that was undeserved, but that has been the Knight's story so far this year. The second half showing was much better, and with the first-teamers returning to action for the next match, here's to hoping the Knights will get back to winning ways.
